Model ACM-HM-530 compactor automatically counts the number of hammer blows and shuts off when a preset number is reached. The sample mold indexes to a new position with each count to assure uniform compacting with the assurance of mechanical reproducibility.
The ACM-HM-530 Mechanical Compactor may be used with the 4" (102mm) ID molds with 5.5 lb (2.5 kg) weight and 12” (305mm) drop. In addition the HM-530 compactor will also accommodate the 6" (152mm) ID molds using the standard 5.5 lb. (2.5 kg) weight and 12” (305mm) drop or the modified 10 lb. (4.5kg) weight and 18" (457mm) drop. The standard 2" (51mm) hammer is replaced by one of the same 3.14 in 2 area but with pie-shaped face to cover entire sample surface with 6” molds. The hammer lift compensates for sample drop during compaction and results in low overall machine height to permit bench top use. The free-fall hammer has weight concentrated at the foot and adjustment from 5.5 to 10 lb. is by addition of a surcharge weight.
Model HM-530 includes 2" round 5.5 lb hammer, a pie-faced hammer for 6” molds, a surcharge weight, 4" and 6" standard compaction molds, and digital automatic counter with start/stop switching. Overall dimensions: 12.5x29.5x56” (318x749x1422mm), WxDxH.
Special Model HM-531 for California Method 216 is supplied with 2" round 10 lb hammer only. Order special 16" H x 2-7/8" ID Model HMA-119 Calif. 216 mold separately. Required piston and rod are included as parts of the machine.
