Technical Features:

This device represents a break-through in modern moisture measurement technology. By utilizing the latest microwave and microprocessor technology, the trident can determine the moisture content of sand, gravel, crushed stone and other fine and coarse aggregate. Simply insert the prongs of the probe into the material to be measured and instantaneously the percentage of moisture content is shown on the easy to read display.

The unit comes calibrated for both sand and aggregate. It can also be programmed with up to ten different materials by the user. For highest accuracy, the unit should be programmed for the material being tested. Simple to use Win95/WinNT software is provided for calibrating the unit to the various materials.

Finally, it can store over 150 readings. Storage is time and date for complete with the time and date for future reference. Data can be recalled via RS-232 interface to a personal computer.

Mortar Penetration Apparatus

Model ACM-HM-570 Acme Penetrometer and Model ACM-HM-571 Mortar Penetration Apparatus are used to determine setting times of concrete mixes by measuring the penetration resistance. Suitable for lab and field-testing, both are also ideal for testing prepared mortars and grouts.

A mortar sample, sieved from fresh mix, is placed in a container and stored at a specified temperature. It is tested at regular intervals with standard penetration needles. Resistance is plotted to determine initial (500 psi) and final (4000 psi) setting times.

The Acme Penetrometer uses a load cell to measure loads. The load is read on a 200 lb (890 N) capacity gauge graduated in 1 lb divisions. Penetrometer has dimensions of 10"x13"x31" WxDxH and 9.5"x7" platform. Hand-held ACM-HM-571 Mortar Penetration is applied using a downward force to penetrate 1 inch (25mm) into a sample. Pressure reads on a scale on the handle stem via a sliding ring indicator. Unit comes with convenient carrying case.

Both units include six standard stainless steel penetration needles with 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/10, 1/20, 1/40 in.2 (645, 323, 161, 65, 32, and 16mm2) bearing areas.

Standard Vicat Apparatus

The ACM-HM-300 Standard Vicat, used for most purposes, has a 300g reversible stainless steel rod with 10mm diam. plunger on one end and 1mm diam. double-threaded needle at the other. An adjustable indicator on the rod may be set to read a 0-50mm x 1mm scale on the frame when used either end down. A 40mm high conical plastic specimen mold with 70mm ID base and 60mm ID top is included.
