Aggregate washers are used to remove clay and other particles by gently agitating the specimen in a revolving drum until all particles are washed and separated and the overflow water runs clear.
The smaller version aggregate washer is unique in that the drum can be removed for weighing the sample. The smaller size also allows placement on a counter top next to a sink drain. Because of its compact size and light weight, the washer can be moved easily if space is a concern.
A new accessory, a vacuum lid allows the user to turn the washer into a pycnometer. The washer and vacuum lid combination is much quicker than the vibrating table used in most labs and it can also handle larger samples if needed.
